Arjuna Visada Yoga

etānna hantumicchāmi ghnato.api madhusūdana . api trailokyarājyasya hetoḥ kiṃ nu mahīkṛte ||1-35||

In plain words

You are being urged to choose compassion over worldly gain, refusing to harm others even for the greatest rewards. Arjuna declares he would not kill his relatives even to rule the entire universe, let alone the earth. He is caught in maya, the illusion that temporary earthly ties are absolute, which temporarily blinds him to his true spiritual dharma, or righteous duty.
